Razorblade Suitcase

4:41 AM

greetings gents! whats happening?! today i'm standing out ina mini blizzard, its a snow storm, it's about 27 degrees and behind me 25 miles to the south, is chicago. i want do a little travel video for youtoday and this razor that i'm going to use is a merkur. it comes in a handy little travelcase like this. i'll be using the arko shaving soap, and

i just want to perform a littletravel video. if you're a businessman, or if you'reon a fishing trip or something like that and you don't want to go back looking like cro-magnon man, well you need to take your razor with you and you'll need a little travel kit. all thesethings: a brush, this is an edwin jagger brushbelieve it or not, a travel brush, and this merkur razor, along with the arko shave stick. these will all fit inside of a handy little zip-lock bag. and it won't take up much room in yoursuitcase at all.

so let's get started here! you'll be able to get your hands on somehot water somehow, whether you have a campfire, or a microwave, or a stove you can boil ithowever you get your hot water... i just happen to have some with me, i justwant to show you about how this edwin jagger travel brush works. all you do is you unscrew the top from it, and you pull out the brush, and you will insert the brush into the cap. and just tighten that like so. until it stops, and then you can screw that into the cylinder.

then you have an instant shaving brush! very nice, ingenious, brilliant idea! nowthe merkur travel razor, the way this worksis, you take it out of its pouch, this is actually a four-piece razor. it comes with a merkur blade, so i'll set that off to the side. the way this works is, you have 2 pieces, the head with the safety bar...... right here and then you also have the two-piece handle, one is seated inside the other. you just take that apart, and you'll screw the two pieces of the handle together like this.

and then you will take your safety bar and i'll be using a feather blade today.a brand new feather blade... here it is: so i will insert that over the pins and then the safety bar on top of that. make sure it goes with the curved side facing up. and then insert the handle and tighten itdown. just like that, and make sure yourreveal is even on both sides so you

don't have the blade protruding more on one side than theother... looks good to me. and the specs on this razor: this razor weighs 1.7 ounces and its overall length is 3inches. you can see on my finger-1,2,3 on the digits it's three-inches. i'll set that down. and most important on your shave is to get some hot water, which i have, and what i'll do is get that ready. i'll just dip my brush in thehot water,

swirl it around a bit, and (unzips) let's do away with this jacket! it's a little nippy out here but, that's what makes it interesting! okay so here we go! i'll just take this, and brush it on my face nice warm water... ideally you'll be in a hotel room andyou'll have your warm water easily dispensable from the water in the faucet but, i don't have that luxuryright now. i'm standing on top of a hill,

so my hot water is not as hot as i'd likeit to be but we're gonna give it a go and see how it works out. okay now, i'll take my arko shave stick and just rub that along my face, and glide it across. all over... dip that brush in the hot water, justwarming it up a bit and then you start gliding the shavestick all around the area to be shaved like that...

now here's the fun part you'll just take your brush, shake the water off of it, and start lathering, and you'll see that it justinstantaneously it starts to provide you with abeautiful lather... you can just swirl about with your brush until you have this perfect lather. there you go! so about 30 seconds i've got just an excellent lather going on. i'll set that down and i'll pick the travel razor up dip it in my water and i'll just getstarted with my shave. oh, by the way, my

friend dean who's in canada, i'm making this video foryou because you purchased this razor a long time ago and you requested that i do this video for you, so here itis! dean's my buddy, he says that he and his kids watch some my videos on the big screen in thehouse. hi kids! what's up? i greatly appreciatethat! as you can see this is a great littlerazor it's not very large but, look at it, it doesa fantastic job!

coupled with a feather blade. no problem whatsoever. i've got about atwo-day growth and you can see that it bites right through it, no problem!... very nice! i'm trying to do this rather quicklybecause it's a little bit nippy out here, and the water is drying up really quickly, or getting cold very quickly. but you can see that the cream is still very nice. so what i'll do is i'll just

do a quick rinse. with my shave nation face cloth... right here... rinse off a little bit. i'll spill out that water and i'll get some new water, some fresh water. and now with the same brush i'll just dip in the water gently alittle bit and you'll see i'll get just more than enough lather for another pass, no problem.

and like i said, it is 27 degrees so idon't want this to freeze up on my face either. i'll set that down. i'll just perform a across the grain pass, my first pass wasdown north to south, with the grain. this will getme nice and close. i've got a little hand mirror i'm holding. wesell this mirror at shave nation, we sell all of these products at shavenation.com. so you can check it out and feel free. if you have any questions i'll be more thanhappy to help you with anything.

feel free to ask away. now i'll go against the grain on my neck here... and just clean up around the nose a littlebit and around the lips okay! there you go, a two-pass shave, i've gone from a 2-day growth, to nice and clean. let's see how it looks.... it's starting to get chilly! and it's so windy up here that you probably can't see it, but the snow

is actually going horizontal, rather than vertical! very nice! very nice! i've got a nice cleanshave, hopefully you can see that. and the the arko shave stick, i'm glad you were able to see how that works it's a very luxurious lather and youcan create that lather very quickly and easily without a problem whatsoever and it's a great product and this isalso this arko it comes from turkey. it's veryreasonably priced, we have it on the website at shavenation.com.

i'm geo, geofatboy by the way! check out all my videos i have about 50videos on youtube regarding shaving and all shaving related items. straightrazors, safety razors, strops, stones, i'm working on a sharpening video. so that's about it, if you have anyquestions feel free to ask away. again the merkur travel razor- here'sanother look at it. you can see it's a good size, it's substantial enough to get the jobdone, it has a nice knurled handle. and it's easy to grip, and then itjust folds down very flat

small enough where you can just put this inyour shirt pocket or in your pants pocket and you wouldn't even know it's there!alright so have a great shave, have a great day!we'll see you next time. come visit me at shavenation.com forall your wet shaving products. take care! i'm gonna go warm-up! we'll see ya!
