inconven ience... compared to what happened northwest of the metro. reporer brandon scott and producer
roger hamer spent the day checking out the damage... first in scribner, then in columbus. monster winds of up to
80 miles per hour toppled the steeple of this church. now an entire community is cleaning up the damage left behind.
--church clean up-- these piles of debris are all that's left of the nearly 100 year-old steeple at st. paul lutheran
church after a ferocious storm roared through the tiny town of scribner. molly broekemeier, scribner:
it was more of a hurricane- like coming through and just blew stuff around. --roof cleanup-- downtown,
the wind ripped the roof off a building, knocked over power lines, and tore through trees.

scribner resident: if i had been half a second slower it would have been on top of me. flattened
corn rural areas nearby were hit hard, too... leaving farmers worried about their crops. the winds

plants in half. about an hour away in columbus, we found that the same storm shredded this trailer home and pulled
betsy dubas's fence posts out of the concrete. betsy dubas, columbus i thought it was never going to quit!
it lasted a long time. church clean up back in scribner, the congregation of st paul's church is
